Data Overload, Information Overload, Cognitive Overload.  Enough already!  Let’s agree we are all overloaded.  The amount of data we are expected to filter and consume is increasing, while our time to do so is decreasing. In other words, the haystacks are getting much bigger, and the time to find the proverbial needle is getting much smaller.  We hear this all the time, and we accept it as the truth, but is it?  In this paper, we will explore this concept of “overload” and its many forms, and then challenge the notion of information overload, suggest an alternative problem and solution, and explain how the new solution can benefit the corporate training community.
