Orgwide Services is pleased to announce the addition of three new employees, an indication of the company’s increasing level of business and continued growth. Thonda Boals Barnes has joined Orgwide Services as the Director of Instructional and Visual Design. Ed Colvin is the new Director, Facilitation Services. And Matt Fite is Orgwide’s new Senior Communications Consultant.

Thonda comes to Orgwide Services with an array of skills and experiences. After obtaining a B.F.A. in Graphic Design, Thonda was selected as a Lyndhurst Fellow in the University of Memphis’ Center of Excellence, where she earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum Design and Instruction. Her leadership experience covers a range of industries including advertising agencies, publishing companies and corporations. The majority of her 28 years of experience was at FedEx Corporation, where she served in customer service, global community relations and, primarily, leadership and management development.

Thonda’s instructional design skills were honed in FedEx Corporation’s Leadership Institute, where she designed curriculum for classes, videos, speaker series and online learning for the global management team of over 9,000 leaders. As the corporation grew globally, she developed leadership programs for Europe and Asia. Thonda’s work in instructional design and program management earned her the corporation’s highest award, the Five Star Award of Excellence, on two separate occasions. In addition, Thonda’s instructional design work for educational videos was recognized with two industry awards, the International CINDY and the Questar Award.

Thonda brings exceptional skills in the areas of instructional design, graphics and illustration, and needs assessments. She’s truly a nerd to the third power and she’ll fit right in with our team!”

MattFite2aMatt worked for more than 20 years in the marketing department of The Commercial Appeal as a writer and editor. In that role, he won a statewide award from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism for his editorship of an advertorial publication focusing on East Arkansas. Matt also won an award from Delta Byways, which promotes tourism in the Arkansas delta, for the same publication.

Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in news-editorial journalism from the University of Memphis and worked in The Commercial Appeal’s newsroom before moving to the marketing department. His work has appeared in The Commercial Appeal, West 10 Newspapers, in books from Image Publishing and in trade publications. Matt also has worked for Miller Publishing Corp. and as a content writer (on contract) at FedEx. He has operated his own company, Fite Communications, carrying out editing and writing for a variety of companies.

According to Taylor, “Adding Matt to the Orgwide team is a major win for our corporate communications and newsletter customers.  Matt’s ability to artfully craft or refine a message, obviously extends from his love of language, storytelling skills, and a creative perspective. No doubt, Matt will create immediate value.”

edcolvin2aEd brings 30-plus years of management, leadership, team-building and communications-training experience to the Orgwide team. Prior to joining Orgwide, Ed worked for FedEx Express for 33 years, where he was a member of the management team for more than 18 of those years. Ed’s career reflects a diverse set of responsibilities, including domestic and international operations and support services. During his career at FedEx Express, Ed was selected for a special assignment, in which he facilitated Managing and Valuing Diversity workshops for managers and frontline employees of the corporation. Ed’s career at FedEx allowed him the opportunity to travel extensively and form relationships and networks throughout the U.S. as well as in Europe and Asia.

In addition to his job at FedEx Express, Ed has also served as a consultant to numerous organizations, including the Memphis Race Relations and Diversity Institute. A frequently sought facilitator and presenter, Ed is widely known for his two-day Managing Diversity workshops for corporate executives and not-for-profit managers.

So, when we had the opportunity to morph our relationship into that of a bona fide team member, we pounced.  As some of our clients will tell you, Ed’s management career and record of battle-tested facilitation and instructional design skills will be put to immediate use!”
